Personalising your day

It is modern trend to theme your wedding day, and there's no better way to make your personal1day personal than by choosing a theme that interests you both. Do you have a shared hobby? Did you meet at university or through work? Do you have a favourite or special place? Almost anything can be used as a theme.

Images of your life
They say that a picture paints a thousand words, so include images of you both through the years - before you met and as a couple. Choose pictures that include members of family and friends and that have a story behind them. People love to feel special and involved, so this will prove popular with everyone chatting and interacting.
Continue the idea of using real photos of the two of you by choosing an engagement picture to use as your wedding card. It's also a great keepsake for the guests. You can then continue this idea by sending thank you cards after your wedding day with your favourite photo of the big day on the front.

personal2Remembering loved ones
Photographs can be used in a number of ways throughout your day. You can display your parent wedding photo alongside one of your grandparents and other family members.
If you're an avid photographer, find an image of every guest invited, print to approximately 5x5cm, laminate it and lay it  on the place setting of each person for
the lunch.

Music makes the difference
Music is a great way to get people involved in your wedding so make sure that all your favourites are played! Ask guests to choose their favourite tracks early on - include a section on the RSVP where they can note down a few songs they would definitely dance to, and hand these to your DJ well before the day to make sure he got good selection of songs.

Show them you care
It's traditional to thank your guests by giving them little presents or favours. Most brides choose to leave them at each place settings, but it's really lovely idea to hand them out personally to your guests during the wedding reception. That way, you'll get to say a quick hello to everyone, and no one will feel neglected.
